MY STORY

Jasmyn’s teenage dream was to be a sports news anchor, which led her to the University of Missouri School of Journalism over 10 years ago. (M-I-Z) A sophomore-year lecture shifted her perspective and put her on the path of telling stories that don’t just inform but move culture forward. In other words: advertising

Four years later, she was attending the Super Bowl again, this time leading a Nike project. The more work she produced, the more obsessed she became with the “why” and “how” that shape the final campaign.

Next came the greatest city in the world: New York City. Surrounded by creativity, Jasmyn took risks and let curiosity lead her. That curiosity landed her at Google, officially making her a self-proclaimed “tech girly.” There, she met brilliant people, visited almost 10 Google offices around the world, and helped launch what we all now know as Gemini.

But for the first time in her life, she actually missed home. So she returned to the States, moved in with her mom, and freelanced while reflecting on who she was, what mattered most, and where she wanted to make an impact.

Through all of these experiences, one constant has defined Jasmyn’s life: community. And when she finally stepped back to ask where she wanted to make her impact, the answer was clear: women’s sports. Jasmyn spent most of her life as a competitive cheerleader, even cheering D1, and saw firsthand the imbalance of support and recognition that women’s sports receive. Today, she gets to do something about it. As Director of Content Strategy & Production for the WNBA’s Atlanta Dream, she’s leading storytelling that’s bold, unapologetic, and built to shift culture.

Her post-grad internship quickly turned into one of her favorite jobs of her career. In Portland, Oregon, at Wieden + Kennedy, she fell in love with production - starting with a six-month-long Super Bowl project as her very first assignment post-internship.

Eventually, she hit a crossroads and left it all behind to spend six months in a small town in Tuscany, Italy, where she attended an international film fellowship program. She can talk for hours about the quality of life, €1 espressos, and tips for surviving the summer heat.
